Título:  Corpos visíveis: experiências de mulheres cuir desfeminilizadas   Autor: ARAUJO, Amanda Silva Primeiro orientador: PANTOJA, Vanda Maria Leite Abstract: This dissertation, entitled “Visible Bodies: Experiences of Defeminized Queer Women,” investigated the social, cultural, and political dynamics that permeate the experiences of defeminized women. The guiding question of the study was: how do defeminized bodies traverse and are traversed in a society oriented by heteronormative standards? To answer this question, the research sought to: a) identify social markers that distinguish male from female bodies; b) discuss, from a theoretical point of view, how heteronormativity affects women who do not follow normative standards; and c) analyze the experiences and resistance strategies of defeminized queer women. Anchored in Gender and Sexuality Studies, the research articulates the contributions of Writing-Reflection and Experiential Hermeneutics as theoretical and methodological paths to understand the experiences narrated by the research subjects. A qualitative approach is adopted, based on in-depth interviews with women who identify as defeminized, valuing their trajectories, memories, and ways of signifying their own bodies. The results show that defeminized bodies occupy a place of social ambiguity: while they are targets of control, surveillance, and delegitimization, they also constitute spaces for political creation, normative rupture, and the elaboration of new forms of subjectivity. By contributing to the visibility of these experiences, the research challenges normative categories of gender and broadens the debate on bodily dissidence in the Brazilian context, especially from a perspective situated in the Northeast. Título: Brincando terecô: corpo, experiência e pertencimento das crianças no Terreiro Nossa Senhora Santana Autor: MARQUES, Ana Silvia Oliveira Primeiro orientador: SOUSA, Emilene Leite de Abstract: This study analyzed how the experiences that traverse children’s bodies in the Terreiro Nossa Senhora Santana produce religious and ethno-racial belonging, based on an anthropological approach that articulated childhood studies, ethnography, and debates on coloniality and ethnic-racial relations. The study aimed to understand how children’s bodily experiences in the Terreiro Nossa Senhora Santana produce religious and ethno-racial belonging, considering their relationships with spiritual entities and their everyday experiences in the terreiro. The research adopted ethnography as its methodology, employing techniques such as participant observation, focus groups, as well as drawings and photographs produced by the children themselves. The results indicated that children actively participate in the everyday life of the terreiro, producing bodily and religious knowledge (Rufino, 2019) through experience, establishing spiritual kinship ties with the enchanted beings (Haraway, 2021; Ahlert, 2021), and articulating relationships with peers and adults in the constitution of community bonds. It is also observed – drawing on debates on Black identity (Munanga, 1999) and the coloniality of power (Quijano, 2005) – that the terreiro constitutes a pedagogical, affective, and political space in which children construct positive meanings about themselves and develop everyday strategies to confront religious racism. The study concludes that children’s belonging in Terecô is produced in a relational, collective, and situated manner through bodily experiences that intersect spirituality, ancestry, and collectivity, contributing to the expansion of debates on childhoods, Afro-Brazilian religiosities, and the production of alternative epistemologies. Título: Sindicatos: percepções dos profissionais da educação acerca de suas ações em Imperatriz- MA Autor: PEREIRA, Fernanda Nunes Primeiro orientador: MATOS JÚNIOR, Clodomir Cordeiro de Abstract: This study addresses teacher unionism, specifically the representations and expectations of teachers in Imperatriz, Maranhão, regarding the experiences of Sinproesemma in the state's second-largest city. From this perspective, this research aims to sociologically understand the perceptions of Maranhão's education workers in relation to unions and their place in the contemporary social world. To achieve this objective, exploratory and descriptive research was used, based on Minayo (1994), and the methodological instruments included direct observation, the sending of Google Forms questionnaires, and interviews with state school teachers working in the city. The text describes the methodological path adopted for the development of the research. The first chapter explores the arguments of classic and contemporary authors in Sociology, identifying narratives about mobilizations, workers' experiences in their demands for rights, and the formation of the first unions. In this initial stage, we mobilized the contributions of authors such as Marx (2013), Engels (2010), Giddens (2008), and Antunes (1998). In the second chapter, we analyzed the history of teacher unionism, identifying its trajectory in Brazil, in Maranhão, and in Imperatriz, at which point we analyzed the trajectory of Sinproesemma in the city. At this point, the contributions of Brussio (2015) and Fortes (2018) were significant. In the third chapter, we proceeded with the analysis of the empirical data obtained through the application of the forms and interviews, highlighting an ambiguous field regarding mobilizations, teacher engagement, and alignment between government and union. The results indicate that, although the union is recognized as a legitimate instrument of representation, its performance faces limitations that impact the participation and engagement of teachers, pointing to the need for a redirection in the strategies of union actions. Título: “Queira nos valer Senhora”: representações de Maria para as mulheres da tenda de umbanda Nossa Senhora da Conceição em Imperatriz-MA Autor: LIMA, Polyana Almeida Frota Primeiro orientador: VERAS, Rogério de Carvalho Abstract: The present work proposes the study of Afro-Brazilian religions (Umbanda) and has as a guiding question: what are the representations of Mary (Our Lady) for the women of the Tent of Umbanda Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Imperatriz-MA and how they operationalize these representations. To this end, the following theoretical framework was used: Reginaldo Prandi (1996; 1998; 2011), Sérgio Ferretti (2005), Mundicarmo Ferretti (1996), Kabengele Munanga (2019), to talk about Afro-Brazilian religions in their historicity, as well as Quijano (2005), with the category of decoloniality to critically treat the colonial process and James Scott (2013), who helps me to think about the category "modes of resistance" looking at syncretism as a way of subverting these religions. From the perspective of gender, race and ancestry, the discussion mobilizes authors such as: Patrícia Hill Collins (2016; 2019), Lélia Gonzalez (2020), Suely Carneiro (2019) and María Lugones (2014), as well as Rosinalda Simoni (2019), Hélen Jardim and Dulce Voss (2022). When it comes to the hagiographic and mythological part we have Prandi (2001a; 2001b) and Pierre Verger (1981). To arrive at the representations, I bring as a theoretical contribution Roger Chartier (2002), Émile Durkheim (1986) and Magnani (2004). Methodologically this work relies on ethnographyc research, which I did participant observation, use of the field diary, photographs, application of semi-structured questionnaire and also the use of whatsapp. The interlocutors are seven women of which one is the mother of the Tent and the other six are mediums of the house. The centrality of women in ceremonies, manual and spiritual work around the festivals, and in the social dimension is conclusive. This protagonism that occurs within Tenda and beyond comes from the perceptions of affection and care that these women have regarding Mary. She is a mother, protector and helper in needs, but her representations go beyond this scope. Mary becomes an inspiration and resistance for these women and for Tenda, at the same time that she is the one who “helps us”.
