PLANO DIRETOR E PATRIMÔNIO CULTURAL: Um estudo do município de São José de Ribamar no âmbito da Amazônia Legal

Abstract

Study about an analysis of the effectiveness of the São José de Ribamar Master Plan, in relation to the protection of cultural heritage, as well as an investigation into whether such articulation occurs in a sustainable way within the scope of the Legal Amazon. It aims to relate the theoretical conceptions of cultural heritage and the Master Plan, through a literature review of scientific works published in the last twenty years, as a form of theoretical and applied support for research, taking as a starting point authors such as Eagleton (2005), Fonseca (2005), Castells (2003), Cabral (2011), Contini (2011), Laraia (2013), Navarro (2011), Baer (2009), Choay (2001), Lefebvre (2002), Fariello (2011), Carvalho (2017), Krenak (2019), among others. It seeks to characterize the Legal Amazon in the State of Maranhão, with a view to locating the city of São José de Ribamar in that region and its local specificities, through documentary research of mappings carried out by competent institutions, identifying the material and immaterial heritage in the Region from the São José de Ribamar Headquarters, focusing on its links with the preservation of cultural heritage and sustainable development of the Legal Amazon, through field research involving organized civil society and representatives of public authorities. As for its nature, it is applied, exploratory and descriptive research in terms of purposes. Inductive and observational methods are used to carry out the study. As for its approach, it is a qualitative research. It discusses heritage diversity as an attraction for tourism and the local economy, which is why we must take care of our heritage. It should be noted that the municipality of São José de Ribamar, despite being an estuarine city, is part of the Greater São Luís Metropolitan Region (RMGSL), through State Law No. 174/2015. Thus, the physical proximity to the State capital guarantees and facilitates access, however, it absorbs the problems that overflow the territorial limits of this urbanization, a fact that could result in the multiplication of the municipality's socioeconomic and environmental impacts, without developing it in a sustainable way. sustainable, and putting the quality of life of the population and the environment under threat.
