ENTRE “HOMENS EUROPEUS E VELHOS QUE JÁ MORRERAM”: a mulher no ensino de Sociologia, um estudo a partir das escolas estaduais de Imperatriz-MA

Abstract

This research starts from a decolonial perspective to reflect on the effects of modernity/coloniality in the place given to women in the production of knowledge in the Social Sciences, and how this is reflected in the teaching of Sociology in basic education. I use as reference authors such as Walter Mignolo (2014), Anibal Quijano (2005), María Lugones (2014), Catherine Walsh (2019), and Danielle Chabaud-Rychter (et. al. 2014). For the development of the research, official documents regulating the Brazilian basic education and high school sociology textbooks, seeking to identify whether and how gender issues are addressed. In addition, online questionnaires were applied using the Google Forms tool, aimed at male and female teachers who teach the subject of Sociology in high school in the city of Imperatriz-MA, seeking to identify the limits and challenges of gender in basic education, and the place that women social scientists occupy in the subject.
