Artes visuais contemporâneas: ensino e aprendizagem nos cursos técnicos nível médio no IFMA - Campus Centro Histórico

Abstract

This dissertation presents the results of the research done during the professional master 's degree in arts with the purpose of developing a methodological proposal for the teaching of the visual arts that allows the experiences in Contemporary Art for students of professional education at the secondary level in Visual Arts, with the objective to bring together the visual arts and vocational training. First of all, the IFMA Campus São Luís Centro Histórico was created to promote the students' experience in the production, knowledge and appreciation of contemporary art, bringing this art closer to professional training by adding a higher quality of technical training in Visual Arts. For that, I use the sense of belonging to the historic neighborhood of Praia Grande, where the Campus is located, as well as the international artistic references (OakOak), national (Kobra) and local (Rosilan Garrido) to exemplify in the visual arts production of artists who have the city as an inspiring muse. The pedagogical intervention developed with the students was carried out using the stencil technique and creation activity based on daily reflection in the neighborhood. Then I present the development of modern and contemporary visual arts teaching, starting with a brief history of these two artistic periods, with the main theoretical references being Anne Cauquelin, Ana Mae Barbosa and Mário Perniola. We present punctual and highly relevant clippings in both movements, considering the significant advances that art education has achieved in the last one hundred years in Brazil, to the understanding of the teaching of contemporary art. In the last chapter, a survey was made of the Brazilian legal bases that legitimize the teaching of the arts, such as the Brazilian Constitution, the Law of Guidelines and Bases, the National Curricular Guidelines (still in the phase of awaiting the announcement after the reformulation of the new high school) , the National Curricular Parameters, as well as the institution's documents. Emphasizing the visual arts through a brief analysis of these references that for a better understanding were organized hierarchically in terms of their national importance and scope. From this survey it was possible to understand the notion of work together with education. Finally, we were able to analyze the visual arts and all their educational potential, including as a professional area, and the possibilities of working with the contemporary visual arts based on the social themes found in everyday life.
