Abstract: The consolidation of Psychology as a science has historically been challenged by epistemological&#xD;
difficulties related to the nature of its object of study, traditionally conceived as consisting of&#xD;
private, subjective, and unobservable mental states. Among these challenges, the problem of&#xD;
other minds stands out, questioning the possibility of scientifically knowing the mental states&#xD;
of others, since only one’s own conscious experience is directly accessible. In this context,&#xD;
this dissertation aims to defend the scientific status of Psychology from the perspective of the&#xD;
analytic-behavioral approach, with radical behaviorism as its central theoretical framework. To&#xD;
this end, a philosophical and conceptual analysis is conducted of the notion of science, the&#xD;
historical difficulties faced by Psychology in establishing itself as a scientific discipline, and&#xD;
the implications of mind-body dualism for the epistemological status of the field. Subsequently,&#xD;
the foundations of radical behaviorism are examined, particularly the redefinition of mind as&#xD;
behavior — public or covert — and the rejection of mentalism as a causal explanation. Finally,&#xD;
the implications of this approach for research and clinical practice are discussed, with emphasis&#xD;
on Analytic-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Functional&#xD;
Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP). It is argued that by shifting the focus from inaccessible inner&#xD;
states to the functional relations between organism and environment, Behavior Analysis makes it&#xD;
possible to methodologically circumvent the problem of other minds while preserving criteria of&#xD;
objectivity, predictability, and control consistent with the natural sciences. The conclusion is that&#xD;
the analytic-behavioral approach provides a philosophically and scientifically robust foundation&#xD;
for Psychology, allowing it to maintain its scientific character despite traditional philosophical&#xD;
dilemmas.

Abstract: This dissertation investigates the intersection between Hans-Georg Gadamer's&#xD;
philosophical hermeneutics and decolonial education, aiming to understand how this&#xD;
integration can contribute to a more inclusive and emancipatory education. The central&#xD;
objective is to explore the potential of Gadamerian hermeneutics to promote an&#xD;
educational approach that values cultural and epistemological diversity, countering the&#xD;
technicist and Eurocentric rationality predominantly present in contemporary&#xD;
educational systems. The research, theoretical and bibliographical in nature, is&#xD;
&#xD;
structured into four chapters. The first chapter examines education as a hermeneutic-&#xD;
philosophical experience, drawing on Gadamer's concepts of understanding, tradition,&#xD;
&#xD;
and the fusion of horizons. The second chapter investigates the consequences of&#xD;
modern rationality on the formative process, relating them to the colonial structures&#xD;
that decolonial education seeks to dismantle. The third chapter proposes a&#xD;
hermeneutics of education from a decolonial perspective, articulating Gadamerian&#xD;
concepts with the propositions of decolonial authors such as Walter Mignolo and&#xD;
Catherine Walsh. The fourth chapter explores the practical application of this&#xD;
integrated approach in concrete educational contexts. The theoretical framework for&#xD;
philosophical hermeneutics is primarily based on Gadamer's works, such as "Truth and&#xD;
Method," complemented by interpretations from scholars like Jean Grondin and&#xD;
Richard Palmer. For decolonial education, the research draws on authors like Aníbal&#xD;
Quijano, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, and Paulo Freire, among others. The adopted&#xD;
methodology is qualitative, with an emphasis on interpretive analysis and the&#xD;
construction of theoretical dialogues between the fields of hermeneutics and&#xD;
decoloniality. The research conducts a critical and dialogical reading of fundamental&#xD;
works, seeking to establish connections and propose innovative properties. The results&#xD;
indicate that integrating Gadamerian hermeneutics with the decolonial perspective&#xD;
offers significant potential to enhance educational practices, promoting a more&#xD;
dialogical, reflective, and culturally sensitive education. The dissertation concludes that&#xD;
this integrated approach can contribute to building a pedagogy that not only educates&#xD;
but also emancipates, valuing the plurality of knowledge and the richness of cultural&#xD;
traditions in the formation of a more just and equitable society.

Abstract: Schiller's aesthetics constitute a fundamental path toward addressing the moral problems of&#xD;
modern man. By discussing issues related to art, politics, and the very exploration of the&#xD;
impulses that are part of human nature, the playwright and philosopher Schiller opens up&#xD;
space for us to consider the contributions aesthetics makes to the customs and character of&#xD;
individuals. Although the categories of art and morality are often thought of as distinct&#xD;
elements, these two particularities share a certain connection in Schiller's thought, as the&#xD;
artistic, in its own way, influences a form of reflection and contribution to the ethical,&#xD;
political, and cultural problems faced by humankind in the Age of Enlightenment. With this&#xD;
understanding in mind, this research focuses on morality as a central point in Schiller's&#xD;
aesthetic reflections, seeking to demonstrate how, through the phenomenon of art, art can play&#xD;
a morally formative role in individuals, enabling these moral subjects to act and express&#xD;
themselves freely within the cultural context in which they find themselves. Following a dual&#xD;
approach, this research seeks first to explore Schiller's youth and adulthood, demonstrating&#xD;
how the moral element permeates his thought, particularly in his works: “The Robbers”;&#xD;
“Kallias, or on Beauty”; and “The Aesthetic Education of Man”. Secondly, drawing on his&#xD;
“Naive and Sentimental Poetry” and several essays that comprise “Theory of Tragedy”, we&#xD;
will examine how the relationship between art and morality is debated and how the former&#xD;
can infuse the latter with a reflective direction for the betterment of human beings in society.

Abstract: This philosophical and interdisciplinary research aimed to analyze some aspects of the &#xD;
cultural and aesthetic manifestation of the bumba-meu-boi in the State of Maranhão from &#xD;
a nietzschean perspective, as elaborated in the work The Birth of Tragedy. The study &#xD;
sought to analyze the dionysian and apollonian impulses related to the Greek gods &#xD;
Dionysus and Apollo and their implications within the universe of the bumba-meu-boi. &#xD;
Initialy, and more specifically, the work The Birth of Tragedy by the philosopher &#xD;
Friedrich Nietzsche will be analyzed, seeking a greater understanding of tragedy and the &#xD;
tragic in ancient Greek culture as na artistic and cultural manifestation of the greeks who &#xD;
saw in their characters a way of expressing the power of their gods. In a second phase, na &#xD;
analysis of the universe of the bumba-meu-boi was undertaken, more precisely its &#xD;
occurence in the State of Maranhão with all its characteristics and peculiarities, and in a &#xD;
third phase, na analyses of the dionysiian and apollonian impulses in the bumba-meu-boi &#xD;
was carried aut.
