Abstract: The research aims, in general, to analyze the results of the Plano Mais IDH in the
municipality of São Francisco do Maranhão in the work and income axis with a focus
on the Programa Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural (ATER) in the period from
2015 to 2021, the method of analysis used, and which guided the entire investigation
process, was historical-dialectical materialism, which was presented as the most
appropriate in relation to the object. In view of the significant number of programs,
projects and actions developed by the plan and focusing on the Work and Income
axis, the analysis opted to focus on the Programa Assistência Técnica e Extensão
Rural (ATER). It is worth mentioning that the choice of this program takes into
account the time of its implementation and the scope of the program in the
municipality. Finally, it is important to highlight the importance of the Mais IDH Plan
and the advances achieved by it, however, when talking about human development
and rural technical assistance, some aspects presented in this work must be
considered and given greater attention, especially with regard to the weaknesses
detected in the results of the plan, which in almost a decade of implementation have
not seen considerable changes in the state with the worst human development
indices in the country.

Abstract: This dissertation deals with the precariousness of teaching work in private higher education as
a result of advances in capital. The general objective is to analyze the main determinants of
the precariousness of teaching work in Higher Education Institutions - private HEIs in Brazil,
in contemporary capitalism. To this end, the tendency towards precarious work in
contemporary capitalism, the process of capital accumulation in the higher education sector in
Brazil, and evidence of the precariousness of teaching work were analyzed, with the research
object being a private HEI in São Luís, capital of the State of Maranhão. The methodological
procedures included bibliographic and documentary research, including the analysis of the
historical evolution of private educational institutions in Brazil from 1995 to 2021. Data
collection was carried out through the application of a structured questionnaire prepared based
on a precariousness typology social work system consisting of six indicators. It was observed
that the extension of the working day, the requirement for versatility, the reduction in
decision-making capacity and the excessive number of demands within and outside working
hours contribute to a scenario of mental illness with different expressions, which is also
aggravated by feeling of insecurity arising from layoffs and the perception that the
remuneration is below the work undertaken. All this evidence highlighted in the research
shows that the processes of commercialization and oligopolization of private higher education
have been harmful to the category of teachers. In addition to this evidence, the perception that
the investments made to further boost the growth of distance learning, together with the
reduction in the offer of courses and classes in the face-to-face modality demonstrate that this
is one of the main strategies of the sponsors to increase the number of students without the
need to hire more teachers.

Abstract: The present work was developed with the objective of identifying whether the work
model under platform capitalism is capable of guaranteeing minimum health and
safety conditions for application deliveru workers in the city of São Luís-MA. The
hypothesis raised is that the work routines required of these workers, the absence of
legislative protection and the absorption by the couriers of the direct costs of the work
activity prevent the health of their health and weaken the safety in their work. The
applied methodology involved two stages, initially bibliographical research and
national secondary data collection, and then local data collection through field
research. To fulfill this objective, the theoretical framework on platform capitalism was
analyzed, some of its characteristics and how the absence of legal and jurisdictional
definitions can influence the insecurity of labor relations of the professional category
object of study. The surveys showed how, all over the world, the characterization of
the condition of the platform worker as subordinate or autonomous is still
controversial. In Brazil there is still no specific legislation and jurisprudence is still
being consolidated. In the end, performing an analysis of the legal requirements on
work safety for delivery workers in general and, evaluating the data collected in
qualitative research carried out with this professional category that works through
applications, it points to the confirmation of the original hypothesis of weakening of
the health and safety conditions of the analyzed workers.

Abstract: Starting from the 2000s, affirmative actions have gained significant prominence on government
agendas, garnering increasing popular support over time. This has contributed to social
inequalities becoming a widely debated issue in Brazil. In the field of education, affirmative
actions, both in the public sector through quotas and in the private sector through scholarships
and student financing, adopted in recent decades, have facilitated the entry of historically
excluded groups into higher education, thus contributing to the democratization of access to
academic spaces. This dissertation aimed to describe and quantify the evolution of female
participation with higher education in the Brazilian labor market from 2003 to 2015. It started
from the hypothesis that the presence of women with higher education became more
pronounced in the labor market after the expansion of public policies in higher education. As
such, a theoretical-historical analysis was undertaken to understand the implementation process
of affirmative actions in Brazil. Additionally, indicators obtained from official sources were
analyzed, along with electronic journals, dissertations, and specialized works addressing the
topic. The findings concluded that increased educational attainment has proven to be a
significant factor in women's entry and persistence in the labor market, as well as enabling their
participation in more diverse occupations. This progress reflects not only the consolidation of
rights achieved over the years but also the positive impact of public policies aimed at
democratizing access to higher education. Government reforms and programs have played a
fundamental role in promoting gender equality of opportunities, facilitating greater female
participation in the labor market.
